TINEG, Abra – A 43-year old municipal councillor was injured after he was shot by still unidentified assailants while sitting in front of his nipa house at sitio Nagbekel, Alaoa, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the ainjured individual as Roy dela Crus Ayaba, Sanggunian Bayan (SB) member of Tineg, Abra, 42, single and resident of barangay Alaoa, Tineg, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was sitting in front of his nipa house in the place of incident when he was fired upon by still unidentified assailants who were positioned on top of a hill some 20 meters away from the area of incident.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his right leg and another wound on his right upper body and was rushed to the Abra Provincial hospital for medical treatment.
The case is still undergoing further investigation to ascertain the identity of the suspects and the motive of the shooting incident.
