Teacher should initiate communication through meetings/conferences. Personal meeting like home visitation is a form of background check which gives the teacher an insight on what help could be possibly extended to the child. Moreover, it’s always best to start the school year with parents orientation on classroom rules and regulations, schedule of activities, and parents obligations. Such will serve as a guide on what is expected of the child with parents assistantce. Furthermore, keep the parent informed of the child’s performance in school which includes achievements, problems incurred, and misbehaviour if any. This will increase parent attention to the child. Some children may behaved well at home but display opposite behavior in school. Important thing that parent should know. Constant communication between parent and teacher promotes camaraderie.
Who would not like to contribute for class improvement project when teacher’s commitment is evident? Give your share at the onset before passing the hat.
