SAN JUAN, Abra – Two individuals were injured after both of them reportedly drew their respective firearms and fired at each other during an altercation at Poglay, Baug, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the unhurt individuals as Edwin Turqueza and Fredelito Bergonia, both of legal age and residents of Poglay, Baug, San Juan, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed Turqueza was having a drinking session with some friends when Bergonia arrived, argued with the former and shot him once but missed.
Witnesses informed probers that the two individuals had a heated altercation before both individuals drew their respective firearms and tried to shoot at each other.
For his part, Bergonia informed police operatives that it was Turqueza that shot him but he failed to hit him, thus, he fled from the crime scene.
Responding police operatives and elements of the scene of the crime operation team recovered from the crime scene a spent shell and a live ammunition of a caliber .45 pistol which was believed to have been used in the said incident.
Both individuals were subsequently brought to the Abra Crime laboratory for the conduct of ballistic tests among others but no firearms were recovered from the two persons.
