City officials recently congratulated and commended Lito ‘Thunder Kid’ Adiwang for winning the biggest edition of One Friday Fights at the historic Lumpini Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand last September 22, 2023.
In a resolution authored by Councilor Arthur Alad-iw, local legislators stated that Adiwang’s latest achievement yet again proves that the city is one of the home of world-class athletes thereby giving pride and honor to the city and the whole country.
Further, humbler since his childhood, Adiwang serves as an inspiration to the youth, especially on sports development.
The council pointed out that mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sports based on striking, grappling and ground fighting, incorporating techniques from various combat sports from the different parts of the world.
Cordillera MMA fighter Adiwang faced Indonesian striker Adrian Mattheis in the undercard of the biggest edition of One Friday fights at the Lumpini Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand last September 22, 2023.
He stopped the Indonesian striker Mattheis via a technical knockout in the first round of their strawweight bout.
Adiwang made his professional MMA debut in 2012 and broke out an excellent record with 8 finishes before punching his ticket to One Championship with 3 consecutive wins in Rich Franklin’s One Warrior Series.
Copies of the said resolution will be transmitted to Adiwang for his information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action.
