BAGUIO CITY – A 24-year old waiter died after he was repeatedly stabbed by a 49-year old labourer who was reportedly irked when the former requested him to pay his bill inside a bar along 1st kayang St here Thursday night.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO< identified the victim as Roel Rivera Mendoza, 24, single, native of San Carlos Pangasinan, stay-in waiter while he named the arrested suspect as Armidio Fagsao Aliga, 49, married, laborer, native of Saklit Sadangga, Mt. Province, and presently residing at Purok 7, San Luis, Baguio City..
Initial police investigation showed the suspect and his companions went inside the bar to have a drinking session and after several hours, the victim and some waitresses requested the former to settle his accumulated bill amounting to around P600.
Instead of heeding the request, the suspect suddenly pulled a 12-inch knife and stabbed the victim several times while his other companions in the bar sought the assistance of the police.
The victim was immediately rushed by fellow bar employees to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and the knife used was recovered from the crime scene.
The suspect stands to face homicide charges and violation of the provisions of the existing ban on the carrying of guns and deadly weapons being currently imposed by the Commission on elections (COMELEC)
