TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A ranking official of the News Peoples Army (NPA) who is facing murder and frustrated murder charges in Kalinga and Ifugao was arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents based on separate warrants in his alleged hideout at Lanna, here, over the weekend.
Police authorities identified the arrested alleged NPA leader as Arnold Tongdo Tumbali aka DIWAY, 46, single, vice Squad Leader of Abraham Bannawagan Command, KLG Baggas, and resident of Mabaca, Balbalan, Kalinga.
The suspect was arrested by the operating troops based on warrants of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino K. Wakas of the Regional Trial court (RTC) Branch 24 in Tabuk City for alleged double murder with multiple frustrated murder and murder both with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty.
He was also issued the same warrant of arrest by the same judge for alleged frustrated murder with a recommended bail of P200,000 for his temporary liberty.
Further, Judge Joseph Baguilat of the RTC Branch 14 in Lagawe, Ifugao and Judge Romeo U Habiling of the same court issued separate warrants against the arrested suspect both for murder with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty.
The arrested wanted NPA leader was brought to the Kalinga Provincial Police Office for documentation prior to being turnover over to the issuing courts for the proper disposal of the cases that were filed against him.
