SABLAN, Benguet – The No. 1 tomp most wanted person in Kalinga and the No. 7 TMWP in Ifugao was wounded after he resisted arrest and tried to engage the members of the arresting team into a shot out at sitio Timoy barangay Pappa here around 8:30 am Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Jimmy Catanes, commanding officer of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – North Central Luzon (CIDG-NCL), identified the arrested and wounded suspect as Bilbeys Busal alias Ka Sayap, who now lives at sitio Timoy, barangay Pappa, Sablan Benguet.
He was arrested by virtue of separate warrants issued by the Regional Trial Courts (RTCs) in Kalinga and Ifugao for separate crimes of rape and murder, respectively with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty.
Catanes said the suspect resisted arrest and tried to engage the members of the arresting team to a shootout by firing at them prompting the law enforcers to retaliate inflicting gunshot injuries on his head.
He was immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment and is now confined for further medical treatment among others.
