MANKAYAN, Benguet – A 31-year old warehouse man of a mining company was injured after he was stabbed by a 15-year old minor during their Christmas party at Marivic, Sapid, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Warrien Ayat Sucao, 31, married, warehouse man at Lepanto Mines, a native of Tinglayan, Kalinga and presently residing at bunk house 69, Marivic, Sapid, Mankayan, Benguet while the suspect was described to be 15 years old, male, grade 7 student at Bagtayan, Pasil, Kalinga and presently having vacation at said place of incident.
Initial police investigation showed members of the Kalinga tribe were having their Christmas party in the place of incident when the victim allegedly pushed the suspect and subsequently slapped his head.
The suspect got irked about the incident and grabbed a kitchen knife then stabbed the victim on his back.
The victim was eventually rushed to the Lepanto District Hospital for initial medical treatment before being referred to the Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital in nearby Bauko, Mountain Province for further treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and the kitchen knife used was recovered from his possession.
