TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Farmer associations and organizations of the province receive water pumps and farm implements under the El Nino Mitigation Program of the Department of Agriculture.
The distribution of these implements are just in time for the next cropping season, according to newly appointed Regional Executive Director of Cordillera, Narciso Edillo. Assisted by Provincial Agriculturist Domingo Bakilan, and corn coordinator Gerardo Banawa, they handed over to corn farmers of Kalinga water pumps that were procured as part of the farm assistance program from the national government.
Commiserating to the farmer’s dilemma due to the long water cut-off from climatic changes and ongoing rehabilitation of the Upper Chico River, “I hope these machineries will help you recover from your missed croppings,” said Director Edillo to farmer AnastacioTibangwa of Rizal.
Municipal agriculturists and farmer leaders from the different municipalities shall assist the office of the Provincial Agriculturist in completing the distribution of the equipment and farm implements.
