TINEG, Abra – A 56-year old widower died after he was shot by still unidentified assailants inside a vehicle at sitio Madignak, barangay Alaoa, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Gaboy Liwag, 56, widower, unemployed, and a resident of Lapat-Balantay, Tineg, Abra.
Initial police investigatin showed that concerned citizens reported to the police the presence of a suspicious-looking vehicle on the river. Prompting them to conduct an inspection in the area.
The police eventually found the lifeless body of the victim and an M-16 Armalite rifle with a magazine loaded with four live ammunitions.
Probers are still conducting an indepth investigation on the motive behind the victim’s murder and the suspects behind the said untoward incident in this remote town.
Tineg police personnel were able to discover the lifeless body of the victim with a lone gunshot wound on his nape wed concerned residents reported to the police the presence of a vehicle in the middle of the river prompting them to conduct an inspection.
