BANGUED, Abra – A self-employed woman died while her husband was injured ater they were repeatedly shot by still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen along Zone VII here around 7:10- pm Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Office, identified the fatality as Mary-an Artienda Taciswas, self-employed while he named her wounded husband as Rolando Duque Tacis 42, tricycle driver, both residents of Cabaruan, Danglas, Abra and temporarily residing at Zone VII, Banged, Abra.
Initial police investigation when the spouses, together with their daughter, were on board a tricycle when still unidentified assailants that came from behind on board a motorcycle suddenly fired at them several times before fleeing towards the south direction.
Mary Ann reportedly sustained a gunshot wound on his neck while Rolando suffered a gunshot wound on his back.
Both shooting victims were rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital but Mary Ann was declared dead on arrival by attending physician while Rolando is currently undergoing medical treatment and their daughter was unhurt during the said incident.
The motive of the incident is still being ascertained while manhunt operations are still underway for the arrest of the perpetrators.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) recovered from the crime scene two fired cartridges of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the gunmen in the perpetration of the crime.
