BONTOC, Mountain Province – The provincial government concluded the celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month with an awarding ceremony for the winners and participants of the 3rd Mountain Province (MP) Rescue Olympics and the Unity and Preparedness for Resilient Community Short Video-Making Contest during the Monday Program at the Provincial Plaza on July 29, 2024.
The awarding of prizes to the winners and participants was led by Vice Governor Francis O. Tauli, together with Provincial Administrator Franklin C. Odsey and Provincial Treasurer Rafael L. Lingbanan, Jr.
For the Unity and Preparedness for Resilient Community Short Video-Making Contest, Klipperson Africano won first place, winning a cash prize of PhP10,000 and a certificate of recognition. The Mountain Province State Polytechnic College Studs followed Africano in second place, receiving a cash prize of PhP7,000 and a certificate of recognition. Van John V. Yog-a secured his spot in the third place, bringing home a 5,000-peso cash prize and a certificate of recognition as well.
Special awards consisting of certificate of recognition and PhP3,000 cash prize were also awarded to Marcelina A. Manochon for the Most Viewed Entry (48,000 views) and Team Yhawaii for the Most Shared Entry (20,000 shares).
Meanwhile, all non-winning participants of the video-making contest each received a certificate of recognition and consolation prize amounting to PhP1,000.
For the 3rd MP Rescue Olympics, the municipality of Tadian which emerged as champion, received a plaque of recognition and a cash prize of PhP60,000.
Same plaque of recognition and a cash prize of PhP50,000 were given to the municipality of Bontoc for securing their spot at the second place. Mayor Jerome B. Tudlong, Jr. joined the winners in receiving their awards.
The municipality of Besao, the third placer, also received the same plaque of recognition plus a cash prize of PhP40,000.
Another set of awards which include a certificate of recognition and cash amounting to PhP5,000 were given to the municipalities of Bontoc for the Best Chant Award, Paracelis for winning the Best in Uniform Award, and Sagada for the Most Energetic Award. Board Member Kapon B. Gomgom-o accompanied the awardees from Sagada in receiving their awards.
Meanwhile, the other municipal contenders each received a certificate of recognition and a 10,000-peso consolation prize. By Hail, MP
