SAGADA, Mountain Province – A 58-year old woman died after she was buried by a sudden soil erosion in an irrigation canal at Kotkotwale, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Anita Gonsoden Bogenggeng, 58, single and a resident of Aguid, Sagada, Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was walking along the irrigation canal in the place of incident when she was accidentally buried by a sudden soil erosion that was triggered by continuous rains.
The victim was found lifeless by passers-by who reported the matter to the concerned authorities who retrieved her from the debris a few hours later.
The victim sustained severe head and body injuries that caused his instantaneous death.
