BUGUIAS, Benguet – A 24-year old woman died after she fell off a Tinoc-bound truck along the Buguias-Kabayan national highway, particularly at Malaw-is, Sebang, here, Saturday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Andrea Lacbungan Coaili, 24, married, farmer, and a resident of Tinoc, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was seated on the back portion of the truck driven by Albert Cayat Lacbongan, 28, driver and a native of Tinoc, Ifugao when she accidentally fell off the vehicle upon reaching the place of incident.
The victim, who sustained multiple head and body injuries as a result of the incident, was rushed to the Lutheran District Hospital for medical treatment but she was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
The driver of the truck was temporarily taken into custody by the members of Buguias Municipal Police Station for further investigation.
