PUDTOL, Apayao – A 50-year old woman was hurt after he was struck with a piece of wood by a 45-year old farmer while they were weeding their respective farms at Dona Loreta here recently.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Lolita G. Racimo, 50, married farmer, while he named the suspect as Silvano Annon, 45, married, both residents of Dona Loreta, Pudtol, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim went to the forest to weed her farm and upon arrival in the area, she noticed that the suspect was already weeding her farm so she told him to stop as she will be the one to continue doing so.
At this juncture, the suspect got irked, got a piece of wood and struck the victim several times but she was able to ran away from the forest and sought assistance from concerned residents nearby. The suspect even threatened to kill her prompting her to report the matter to the police.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested awaiting the filing of appropriate charges against him.
