BAGUIO CITY – A 45-year old construction worker died after he was buried alive by a sudden collapse of soil in a construction site at the UP dormitory along Gov. Pack road, here, Wednesday morning.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) identified the fatality as Arthur Sergoncillo Danis, 45, stay-in laborer at the site, and a resident of Purok 6-A Visaya Street Jaoville Compound Pandan, Angeles City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim, together with his fellow construction workers, were working on a construction site in the UP dormitory when the soil in the area suddenly eroded burying him alive.
His fellow construction workers and rescuers immediately conducted rescue operations and recovered the lifeless body of the victim after one hour.
He was immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians.
