BAGUIO CITY – Police authorities disclosed the 32-year old mechanic who was hurt after he was shot thrice by a still unidentified armed suspect in the vicinity of a machine shop along Bokawkan road, Tuesday afternoon, was a member of the Marangan drug group operating in the city.
The wounded mechanic was named as July Day Manarang, 32, single, mechanic, native of Conception, Tarlac and a resident of Happy Homes, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed workmates of the victim reportedly heard three gunshots that emanated from near their matching shop that prompted them to look around and saw him running towards the back of their shop.
When they went to check on what happened, they saw the victim bloodied with several gunshot wounds that prompted them to rush him to the Pines City Doctors Hospital where he is now undergoing close medical supervision.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team found no spent shell of the firearm used by the suspect in the said incident.
The motive of the shooting incident is still being investigated by the responding police operatives.
