BAGUIO CITY – A food and airline magnate will be the guest speaker and inducting officer of the new set of officers of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Baguio-Benguet Chapter (PCCI-BBC) during simple but meaningful rites at the University of the Cordilleras (UC) Theatre on Saturday, March 7.
Alfredo Yao, PCCI National President, will serve as this year’s keynote speaker and the administering officer to the oath of office of the new set of officers of the PCCI-BBC
Dr. Rhodora A. Ngolob, new PCCI-BBC president and the incumbent Dean of UC’s College of Business Administration, said she is flattered by the presence of a well-respected personality in the country’s economic sector as her inducting officer, saying that she will try her best to revitalize the organization and make it a proactive group worthy of emulation.
Yao, 70, serves as Chairman and President of Mazy’s Capital Inc. Hon. Amb. Yao serves as the President of Asia Wide Refreshment Corp., Harman Foods (Phils.), Inc., Amchem Marketing, Inc., Uni-Ipel Industries, Inc., SMI Development, Inc. and Zesto Philippines, Inc. Hon. Amb. Yao serves as General Manager of Solmac Marketing, Inc. He served as President of Arthaland Corp. (formerly EIB Realty Developers Inc.) until November 8, 2004.
He held various positions like Chairman of Philippine Business Bank (formerly Philippine Business Bank, Inc.) until September 2010; Chairman of Export & Industry Bank Inc. since July 6, 2006; Vice Chairman of Export & Industry Bank Inc; and Vice Chairman of Export & Industry Bank Inc. since May 29, 2006.
He also was a director in the following companies: Export & Industry Bank, Inc, Zest Airways, Inc., One Mckinley Place, Inc., UMC Finance and Leasing Corporation, Maybank ATR Kim Eng Financial Corporation, and is still the Director of Arthaland Corp., a subsidiary of Export & Industry Bank Inc. since May 2002.
He holds a Degree in Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology in 1962 and a PhD in Business Administration Honoris Causa from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
The new set of PCCI-BBC officers are Dr. Rhodora A. Ngolob – President; Mr. Modesto B. Imayaho, Sr. – Vice President; Mr. Roberto L. Pidal – Secretary; Mr. Johnny R. dela Cruz – Treasurer; Dr. Reynaldo S. Bautista – Press Relations Officer; Mr. Dennis L. Sy – Auditor; Engr. Ernesto C. Panis, Engr. Mario R. Alzona, Jr., Mr. Lorenzo dg Aguilar, Engr. Marciano L. Garcia – Regional Governors – PCCI-CAR and Engr. Alfonso T. Lao – Assistant Vice President for Northern Luzon, all members of the Board of Directors and Mr. Benedicto Balajadia – immediate past president and ex-officio member of the Board.
Engr. Garcia will introduce to the members the guest of honor and speaker while Engr. Lao will take charge of the induction of the new members of the organization.
Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan will deliver an inspirational message to the officers and members of the local business organization for them to continue their civic obligation of contributing to the growth and development of the city for the benefit of the present and future generations of Baguio residents.
