LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Benguet Caretaker Congressman and Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list Rep. Eric Yap assured the people of the province of his sustained genuine public service that will help in the overall development of the province amidst the issues being hurled against him by his critics.
In his speech during the Investiture of Dr. Felipe S. Comila as the 7th president of the State-run Benguet State University (BSU), Yap, who chairs the powerful House Committee on Appropriations, stated that he will face the issues being hurled against him while working hard to pursue his commitment for the development of the province because of his worn duty to serve the people of the province as the appointed legislative caretaker.
He pointed out that his critics might be successful in destroying his name but they will not succeed in preventing the development of the province through the numerous projects that will be implemented provincewide this year which have been lodged with the various government agencies tasked to implement the funded projects.
The lawmaker said that he promised the people of Benguet of his unwavering and uncompromising commitment to help in speeding up the development of the province through the putting in place of development projects funded by concerned government agencies so that when he will end his term as the legislative caretaker, then he will be contented with what he had done for Benguet that will be elevated as one of the well enveloped provinces in the country by the middle of 2022.
According to him, the genuine public service that he is rendering to the people through various forms is part of his expression of gratitude to the residents and part of his assigned duties and responsibilities as the legislative caretaker of Benguet in exchange for the warm welcome that they extended to him since he was appointed to the side post aside from serving as the ACT-CIS Representative.
Congressman Yap asserted that the overwhelming support that he is getting from the people of Benguet on the services and development projects that he was able to bring to the province for over a year now and for this year is worth the sacrifice that he was able to make having been maliciously accused of what he claimed as machinations of his critics to discredit him and ruin his image before the residents for their own personal and political interests.
The caretaker congressman underscored that he was only into politics in 2019 after being made the second nominee of ACT-CIS and he made sure that he was ready to face the consequences of dirty politics being employed by his critics to suit the interest of their benefactors but he will not allow public service and the delivery of priority development projects to be compromised by the petty political machinations to prevent him from doing his job the right way for the greater interest of the people of Benguet.
He emphasized that most of the people of Benguet are peace-loving and that as an adopted son of the province, he is one with them in condemning the dirty tactics being employed by his critics just to advance their own personal and political interests because the people know who is telling the truth and who is trying to ruin the gains of the services and development projects that have been and will still be implemented in the different parts of the province.
