BAGUIO CITY – The YMCA of the City of Baguio, Inc. through its Inter Agency Cooperation Program partnered by the Philippine Red Cross-Baguio Chapter, held its quarterly Blood Letting Activity last August 1, 2015 at the YMCA here.
The Blood Letting activity that was facilitated by the Philippine Red Cross-Baguio Chapter personnel and volunteers extracted some 13,950 cc of blood (types O, A, B, and AB) or 31 bags of 450cc each from 31 qualified donors who underwent the screening process. Blood donors also came from the YMCA Board of Directors and Staff, YMCA members, YMCA tenants, Interlink Security, Quality Security services and walk in donors who shared their blood to save lives.
Facilitation of the Blood Letting activity was lead by Red Cross Baguio-Chapter Medical Officer Jennifer R. Pira, Medical Technologists John Edward Guevarra and Kris Ayson, Red Cross volunteers Clark Jason Canda and Hariette Reyes with Medical Technology interns Ruth Dela Cruz, Honeywyn Peralta and Demi Depaynos.
On the other hand, a Feeding Program was also conducted in celebration of the nutrition month in coordination with the YMCA Pre School, also an institutional program of the YMCA of Baguio City that involved 372 YMCA pre-school pupils on July 31, 2015.
