BAGUIO CITY- Expected to provide exposure and development of skills as well as the upholding of talents in badminton among elementary and high school students as well as senior badminton enthusiasts, the YMCA Open Invitational Badminton Tournament shall again open this August 19 – 20, 2017 at the Baguio YMCA gymnasium, here.
The annual badminton tilt, open to all elementary and high school students as well as senior and corporate badminton enthusiasts, will again open the opportunity for participants to see action in the two day competition in an official tournament to be able to enhance their badminton playing techniques and knowledge of the rules and regulations of the game.
Two levels of competition, A & B, shall be played by the elementary and High School divisions, in two categories level A for Varsity players and level B for developmental players in three events; Boy’s Doubles, Girl’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
The corporate or senior division is open for participation to badminton enthusiasts eighteen years old and above. Participants in the corporate division shall be leveled respectively into five levels A to E, to vie for championships in three events according with their respective levels namely; Men’s Doubles Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, which will be played in a single round-robin mode of play, following a 1 – 35 points scoring system.
Registration is open for all participants until August 17, 2017 until 5:00 pm at the YMCA Office, registration fees shall be as follows; Corporate/Senior division – Php 275.00 per player/event, High School division – Php 225.00 and Elementary division – Php 175.00 per player/event. Prizes to be given for winners in each event will be trophies and certificate of merit for winners, certificate of participation for all participants, trophy for individual and the over-all division champions for Corporate, High School, and Elementary divisions, determined through their team medal standings. Prizes shall also be given to winners for the raffle draws conducted during the competition proper.
