Congressman Yap underscored it will be the benefits of the recipients that will go nearer to them instead of the usual practice of beneficiaries going to the congressional district of lawmakers to fill up forms and undergo the screening process for the said program.
According to him, education should be made readily available and affordable to students living in the remote villages of the province regardless of the number of voters in the said barangays because what matters is that deserving youth must have access to quality education as this can help them and their families move out from the shackles of poverty in the future.
Congressman Yap stipulated that even the enlistment to the YAP-ASK will be part of the facets of his ongoing mobile ‘tulong’ program in every municipality to provide available assistance for the people in the areas where the aid program will be implemented.
The Benguet caretaker congressman is visiting the different municipalities of the province to interact and consult with municipal and barangay officials, concerned sectors and the private sector to get their insights and priority needs for his office and other concerned government agencies to respond to.
He assured local officials and residents in the different municipalities that for as long as he is the province’s caretaker congressman, he will exert extra effort to bring to the grassroots level the basic services from government agencies, aside from ensuring that Benguet will not be left out in the allocations for the implementation of priority development projects to contribute in spurring economic activities in the rural areas.
Congressman Yap asserted that Benguet should be one of the well-developed provinces in the north once all the major development projects that had been put in place, especially in terms of infrastructure, shall have been funded and properly implemented by responsible contractors.
