TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Around 90 youth members from Barangays Malalao, Bulo, Nambaran and Agbannawag attended the youth development session (YDS) held last December 3-5,2021.
The three-day activity, which was organized by the Regional Mobile Force Batalion (RMFB) and the Regional Office of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) aimed to enhance the leadership skills and characteristics of the youth participants.
According to PCPT John Paul Colangan, OIC- 1503rd RMFB, the YDS in the city was a pilot testing for limited number of participants mostly beneficiaries of the Pantawid Program.
He said that the activity also helped the youth members ventilate their thoughts and feelings through the activities provided like lecture discussions, games and team building.
Employees of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) were also selected to be facilitators during the three-day event.
Some of the topics given were gender and development, effects of teenage pregnancy, expressing emotions, self-worth and identity, RA 9165 (Comprehensive and Dangerous Drugs Act), stress management, preparation for parent-child encounter, and healing and closure. By Darwin S. Serion
