LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Seven more farmer organizations received financial assistance from the provincial government headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas in a form of zero-interest loan to help them in the operation of their respective farm businesses.
The La Trinidad Livestock Entrepreneurs Agriculture Cooperative, Taloy Sur Farmers Association, and the Cattubo Multipurpose Cooperative were granted an amount of P500,000.00 each for their swine-raising projects.
Further, members of the Pilando Gambang Farmers Cooperative are now given the opportunity to grow their consumer store-farm inputs business after having also been granted a P500,000.00 loan.
To boost their crop production, the Pinaljok-Duhot Waterworks Ni Umili Gardeners Association, Inc. and Lubo Farmers Agriculture Cooperative were granted P300,000.00 and P500,000.00 worth of loans, respectively, while the Ekebbajan Rural Improvement Club received P100,000.00 for their rice-retailing project.
Governor Diclas expressed hope for the improvement of the farmers’ livelihood with the assistance provided. He also hopes for more farmer organizations to be benefited by the program. Last year, the provincial government allocated P7,750,000.00 for 18 farmer organizations under the zero-interest Livelihood Loan Assistance Program. By SAP Jr.
