BAGUIO CITY – Baguio and Cordillera-based media practitioners mourn the demise of one of their colleagues who expired at 8:35 am of May 25, 2021 suspected as COVID-19 related while being revived at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).
Cesear Reyes, Kuya Cesear or Cez to his colleagues is a correspondent of People’s Journal. He is a member of the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club Inc. (BCBC). He is also a member of the National Press Club (NPC).
On May 18, 2021, his RT-PCR result showed he is positive of the virus. He was tested after two weeks of off and on fever and difficulty in breathing. He was immediately brought to the BGH COVID-19 isolation facility.
On May 22, 2021, he was rushed to the BGH Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because of very low oxygen level. He was in comatose status since then. On Tuesday morning, his heart beat suddenly stopped and was applied cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by attending medical personnel. He was revived two times and was declared brain dead. Moments later, he expired.
Reyes was born on September 2, 1959 at San Fabian, Pangasinan. He was 61. He is survived by his wife Isabelita and three children. By HENT
