TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Office for the City Agricultural Services (OFCAS) provided one-day leadership and values development training to officers of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) from the 43 barangays.
Before the training began, Assistant City Agriculturist Lim Ducyogen emphasized the importance of values and leadership which every RIC officer should embody in order for the organization to thrive and be sustainable.
He further added that through the OFCAS, the RIC is a partner of the city government in the implementation of agriculture-related programs and services that result in community development.
RIC Coordinator Rey-an Gallamoy emphasized that it is particularly important for both members and officers of RIC to receive training to enhance their skills and contribute to the success of the organization.
Topics on leadership and values development were discussed by Aimee Kathleen Pascua and Josefa Baliwag from the OFCAS in order for the officers to carry out their obligations that will grow their organizations.
Mayor Darwin Estrañero, who was represented by Faustino Tekney, said that RIC is a non-government organization for women and a volunteer-based organization that provides socio-economic opportunities with local government assistance, as well as builds leadership and livelihood skills for family and community development.
