Bontoc, Mountain Province – The Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) recognized one of its employees of her great contribution and achievement in the delivery of public service.
Revenue Collection Clerk III Mary Juvy Tudlong from the Office of the Municipal Treasurer was accorded a Plaque of Appreciation for her commitment and dedication in the 100% collection of delinquent taxes in the previous years and Real Property Tax (RPT) for the current year in Barangay Caneo, Bontoc, Mountain Province. Tudlong is the Focal Person in-charge of collection of RPT in Barangay Caneo.
Likewise, Barangay Caneo received a Plaque of Appreciation from the Bontoc LGU in recognition of the cooperation and participation of the barangay officials and the community in the attainment of 100% RPT collection in the said village.
For the past years, the Bontoc LGU through the Office of the Municipal Treasurer has intensified its Tax Information Education and Communication (IEC) campaign to further enhance the revenue generation capacity of the capital town and the barangays as well as to create better awareness and understanding on the principles and benefits of RPT collection for the local community.
In a separate interview, Mayor Odsey thanked the awardees and stated that taxation is the lifeblood of the government.
“Whatever amount collected, no matter how small, will provide additional revenue not just for the barangays but also for the municipality. The taxes collected go back to the community in the form of government services, programs and projects,” the mayor added.
Human Resource Management Officer Arleen Eickmee Gasmeña joined Mayor Odsey in lauding the awardees adding that the recognition of Tudlong will inspire employees of the Bontoc LGU to realize their potentials which they can maximize ad give their best in the workplace.
Mayor Odsey and Municipal Treasurer Lourdes Austria handed over the Plaques of Recognition to the awardees. For Barangay Caneo, it was received by Punong Barangay Edward Ochasan during the program in celebration of the 113th Bontoc Founding Anniversary and 17th Am-among on September 16, 2021, at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol grounds.
