TABUK CITY, Kalinga – As part of bringing the government services closer to the people of Tabuk, the City Public Employment and Services Office (CPESO) released the passports to those who availed of the “Special Passport Services” (SPS) at the Tabuk People’s Gymnasium, which were processed starting April with 204 candidates.
The SPS is part of the 2024 Matagoan Festival, which is organized by the CPESO in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)-Region.
In his message, City Vice Mayor Dick Bal-o congratulated both the CPESO and the DFA for their assistance, stating that by making passport application and renewal easier, it helped make the festival much more enjoyable, particularly for the beneficiaries.
Bal-o went on to say that he, as well as the rest of the city government’s governing bodies, recognizes the value of these kind of services and hopes that everyone will take advantage of the day not just to obtain their passports, but also to enjoy the other services that the CPESO provides.
The Vice mayor went on to explain that the SPS is an excellent initiative that has begun and should continue in the future, even as Loyda Saboy, CPESO head, stated that SPS is only available in Tabuk.
“Tabuk City lang, isu umun-una tayu. Sumarunu tu met siguro iti Provincial Government nga agconduct ti Special Passport Services,” she said.
She added that they had contacted DFA-Region II so that the beneficiaries need not travel there to process their own passports.
“Special tayu pay nga talaga ta ipan da (DFA) pay mismo dituy nga ited passports tayu,” she said.
DFA-Region II Head of Consular Office Joan Pichay, in her message , advised individuals who acquired their passports to spread their wings and pursue their goals of traveling, not just for job but also for pleasure.
Finally, Pichay stated that when people earn enough, it is beneficial to spend the money they acquired to have a happy life while also helping the nation’s economy. By Edward Joseph Gacuya
