LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – More than P300,000 worth of marijuana plants were successfully uprooted and burned by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during separate intensified anti-illegal drug operations that were conducted in the remote areas of Bakun and Kibungan last June 16, 2024.
The separate marijuana eradication operations conducted by the operatives from Bakun MPS, Kibungan MPS, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and PDEA-CAR resulted in the discovery of 1,480 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P280,00.00 in Bakun and 500 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants with a standard drug price of P100,000.00 in Kibungan.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite, with sufficient samples taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera, while operatives are currently conducting an intensive investigation to identify the cultivators and searching adjacent areas for potential marijuana plantation sites.
