TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government recently formally adopted Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla, Jr. as the city’s adopted son and gave him the local name Alindayo.
However, Senator Revilla’s son, Cavite 2nd district board member Ramon Vincent Revilla, Bautista, who served as his representative during the main program of the 74th Tabuk Founding Anniversary, 23rd Matagoan Festival and 17th city hood anniversary, received in his behalf the tokens given by city officials led by Mayor Darwin C. Estran͂ero and Vice Mayor Dick Bal-o during the adoption rites.
Appearing online, the older Revilla, who is still recuperating from a ruptured Achilles Tendon, expressed his gratitude to the people and officialdom of Tabuk for adopting him as one of the city’s sons which means a lot for him in his career.
The senator was formally adopted as a son of Tabuk by virtue of city council resolution No. 201, series of 2024 which was unanimously approved on June 11, 2024.

Vice Mayor Bal-o said that the positive response of the senator to the invitation for him to visit the city and share his time and effort by attending the and parking of the celebration is a manifestation of his being indefatigable passion in trying to bring the government closer to the people which gesture merits him the propriety of being declared and dubbed as an adopted son of Tabuk.
He explained that the native name Alindayo that was conferred to the senator was derived from the name of a Tubog chieftain and peacemaker who led his tribe into peaceful relations with the other Kalinga tribes.
Among the tokens handed over by city officials, including Rep. Allen Jessie C. Mangaoang and Gov. James S. Edubba, were the traditional G-string, the colorful vest, the sling bag, the headgear of a tribal chieftain and a spear and a shield.
Last June 24, 2024, Tabuk celebrated its 74-founding anniversary as a municipality, 23rd Matagoan Festival and 17th cityhood anniversary with the theme Journey to the City of Life.
Republic Act 533 issued on June 16, 1950 created Tabuk as a municipality of the sub-province of Kalinga-Apayao while RA 9404 established Tabuk as a component city of Kalinga on June 24, 2007 where the same was ratified by the city’s populace.

The city government had made it a practice to adopt key personalities that visit the city as the city’s sons and daughters and gave them native names as well as bestow upon them the benefits and privileges of being a Tabuken͂o.
Senator Revilla vowed to visit the city once he will be able to recover from his present health condition to personally thank the people and officialdom of Tabuk for their gesture in adopting him as the city’s sons and bestowed him the native name Alindayo.
He assured them that he will continue to work for the welfare of the majority of Filipinos by ensuring the enactment of legislative measures that will contribute in uplifting their economic condition and whatever means that will address certain issues and concerns existing in their respective places.
