The local government, the Cordillera office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA-CAR) and the beneficiaries recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the implementation of a scholarship program beneficial to workers of interested construction firms in the city for them to improve in the implementation of warded projects.
The tripartite partnership shall be entitled Skills Enhancement of workers through TESDA training: A Collaboration for workforce Development.
Among the objectives of the project are empowerment through education: to provide comprehensive education training programs aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge and capabilities thereby fostering empowerment and self-sufficiency; recognition and certification: to establish mechanisms for the assessment and certification of workers who have successfully completed training program thereby enhancing their employability and recognition within their respective fields; community engagement: to foster active participation and engagement of community members in the planning, implementation and evaluation of extension training programs ensuring that programs are responsive to the needs and priorities of the community; collaboration and partnership: to forge partnerships with local government units, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise for the successful implementation of extension training programs and community services and long-term impact: to contribute to the long-term socio-economic development and resilience by equipping its work force members with the skills, knowledge and resources needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
TESDA-Car shall provide the skills training programs designed to improve the participants’ technical skills and knowledge; provide the training benefits, in accordance with the training for work scholarship program and facilitate the issuance of national Certification while the local government shall provide the tool kits of the participants and provide the training venue.
Further, the beneficiaries shall attend the 25-dau training that had been designed for the realization of the goals and objectives of the project.
The MOA provided that the parties seek to enhance the employability and competitiveness of the workforce through skills training and development program. By Dexter A. See
