City officials recently congratulated and commended the University of Baguio (UB) Voices chorale for winning medals at the National Competition held in Tarlac City during the Choral Festival and Competition held last June 1-2, 2024.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the achievement of the UB Voices choral not only showcases their personal excellence but also brought honor and pride to the city being the education center of the north.
Earlier, the UB Voices chorale demonstrated unparalleled talent, dedication and musical excellence that culminated in the attainment of prestigious Gold Diploma and second prize in Folk category, Gold Diploma and third prize in Musika Sacra and Gold Diploma in Mixed Choir at the 2nd Sing, Tarlac Sing Choral Festival and competition.
The council claimed that the aforesaid historic achievement of the UB Voices chorale group marks a monumental milestone in the choir’s journey, symbolizing the culmination of tireless efforts, unwavering commitment, and extraordinary musicality.
Further, the success of the group under Mr. John Glenn Gaerlan in the said national competition stands as a shining testament to the transformative power of music and fostering unity, cultural appreciation and artistic expression.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the UB Voices chorale and the administration and management for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
