LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Team PNP-B emerged as champion in the Inter-Agency Basketball Tournament after defeating its rival PNP-A twice in a row in the best-of three finals.
In the second game for the championship on November 14, PNP-B controlled all four quarters with 29-25, 52-47, 78-72, and 104-95 final score.
Gov. Amado I. Espino III, who conceptualized the project to provide a healthy activity for officials and employees of different agencies, personally awarded the trophy for the champion team and the runners-up.
PNP-A which ended as 1st runner-up gave their best shot but failed to outplay PNP-B.
PANELCO team occupied the 2nd runner-up slot while the Dept. of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ended as 3rd runner-up.
PNP Provincial Director Ronald Oliver Lee, who personally watched the game, supported both teams as he hailed all players for representing the entire police force with honor and pride.
The PNP provincial director likewise commended Gov. Espino for launching such project, which he said, is not just a venue for physical activity but a ground where sportsmanship and camaraderie can be built.
Aside from trophy, winners took home the following cash prizes: P60,000 (Champion); P40,000 (1st runner-up); P30,000 (2nd runner-up); P20,000 (3rd runner-up).
