PUDTOL, Apayao – Pudtol Mayor Hector Reuel Pascua, pledged solid support for the athletes gearing up for the 2024 Apayao Provincial Meet, increasing funding to provide for the needs of their team to win the sporting event.
Pudtol is known for its strength in sports given the focus of the officials on the youth and the collaboration of other offices and sectors.
During a meeting with the Municipal School Board on Friday, February 16, Mayor Pascua, alongside Public Schools District Supervisor Wilfreda S. Gamiao, school heads, and coaches, outlined a complete plan focusing on strategic planning, committee delegation, resource allocation, and sports equipment procurement.
The mayor announced a substantial increase in funding dedicated to athlete training, hiring specialized trainers, providing nutritious meals and snacks, and acquiring vital sports materials.
This commitment from the municipal government underscores its alignment with the vision and mission of the Department of Education (DepEd) Apayao, emphasizing the nurturing of students’ athletic potential.
Moreover, this initiative highlights the current administration’s dedication to harnessing the power of sports to foster youth development, enabling them to cultivate skills across various disciplines and lead fulfilling lives.
As neighbouring municipalities intensify their preparations, Pudtol remains steadfast in ensuring its athletes are well-prepared and equipped with the necessary resources and guidance to achieve victory in the upcoming competitions.
The Pudtol School District Office emphasized the significance of such partnerships with local government officials and the important role of inter-agency cooperation in attaining sports excellence and promoting overall well-being among the youth.
