BAGUIO CITY – Thousands of consumers of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) will be experiencing a 10-hour power blackout on Friday, September 22, 2017, 7 am to 5 pm, to pave the way for maintenance activities that will be undertaken by the National Grid Corporation (NGCP).
Melma Concepcion Batario, NGCP public relations officer, said the affected areas include the whole of Baguio city, La Trinidad, Sablan and Tuba and parts of Tublay, Itogon and Bokod, all within Benguet province.
She advised the affected consumers to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the upcoming power interruption and for them to always all lines energized to prevent the occurrence of untoward incidents that will pose a serious threat to life and limb.
Batario reminded the consumers that NGCP may restore power earlier than scheduled, thus, the need for everyone to always embrace safety practices in their homes and workplaces.
NGCP assured the public that it will exert all efforts to restore power earlier than scheduled when all the preventive and corrective maintenance activities on its transmission facilities shall have been completed within the period.
