FLORA, Apayao – Fifty entrepreneurs who are members of associations benefitting from the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the DSWD got trained on Organizational Development – a training focused on developing officers capacity to run a business.
The primary objective of the training program was to foster economic growth and empower local entrepreneurs.
The training was conducted last July 4-5, 2023 at the Flora Municipal Conference Hall in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry, Cooperative Development Authority, and Department of Social and Welfare Development through the supervision of the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO).
Participants were provided invaluable knowledge and skills through a combination of lectures, interactive discussions, hands-on workshops, and practical exercises. These sessions were tailored to equip participants with the necessary tools to thrive in today’s competitive business landscape, covering vital areas such as business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and customer relations.
In addition to the training sessions, the PSWDO took the initiative to organize networking opportunities for participants to connect with like-minded individuals and explore potential partnerships.
These interactions created a supportive community of entrepreneurs, enabling them to rely on one another for valuable advice, collaborative projects, and mentorship.
Ms. Premadona C. Salazar, the program focal person, said the training specifically targeted officers and members of SLP associations who have already received capital support from the provincial government.
It is expected that participants will be able to better run their businesses and become a strong force in boosting the local economy of the municipality. By Michelle Olida Acantilado
