Loman intends to keep this streak at the bantamweight going.
Loman confirmed this n an interview published by Brave CF.
“I think about moving up, yes, but not right now. I’ll go back to the Philippines and keep training and improving for my next title defense. There are many good fighters in my weight class, and I need to be on point to defeat them. I want to keep going and extending that record”, said Loman in the interview when asked about the possibility of adding a second division world title at featherweight.
Loman is only one of three BRAVE CF world champions to ever defend their belt.
His Manila victim, Boudegzdame, a former Featherweight king, beat Jakub Kowalewicz at BRAVE CF 10 to become the first champ to defend his crown before losing the title to Bubba Jenkins, who in turn defended the belt against Lucas “Mineiro” Martins.
Loman, however, is the only Brave fighter who defended his multiple times.
Loman won the title in 2017 at BRAVE CF 9 against Gurdarshan Mangat on November 17, 2017. He followed this up with successful title defenses against Frans Mlambo on June 9, 2018, Felipe Efrain on November 16, 2018; and Elias Boudegzdame on March 15, this year in a fight held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
By comparison, Dominick “The Dominator” Cruz of United States is the current holder of the longest single reign in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at 1,117 days.
Bibiano Fernandes of Brazil is the holder of the single reign in the bantamweight division of ONE Championship at 1,848 days before Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon halted his first reign.
Loman also joins Joshua “The Passion” as Team Lakay fighters who will be belt holders when 2019 ends.
Pacio also successfully defended his ONE World Strawweight title against compatriot Rene “The Challenger” Catalan during ONE: Masters of Fate at the Mall of Asia Arena last November 8, 2019.
Both fighters are still young, Loman just turned 27 while Pacio is about to turn 24 January next year, and can still develop a lot to reach their topmost form. They are expected to be in the limelight and be one of the main characters in their respective divisions for a long while.
