LUNA, Apayao – At least 900 workers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program received their compensation during the 122nd Labor Day Celebration held at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Compound in San Isidro Sur, Luna, Apayao on May 1, 2024.
In addition to the TUPAD payouts, 24 beneficiaries of the Government Internship Program (GIP) also received their compensation.
The Labor Day celebration also featured a Livelihood Fair, which showcased various livelihood associations in Apayao, aiming to promote entrepreneurship and economic empowerment among the local community. Furthermore, the celebration included capacity-building activities for workers’ organizations, as well as orientation on cooperativism by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).
Other services and activities included the registration of driver’s licenses and student permits by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Apayao, health and wellness, and skills development demonstrations by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
