TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Five units Open Source Pumping Set or water pumps, 20 bags of Production Enhancement Program OPV Glutinous Corn Seed Assistance, and twenty-four (24) Litters Fall Army Worm Control Insecticide were awarded to selected beneficiaries in front of the City Hall Building on January 11 by the Office of the City Agricultural Services (OCAS) headed by City Agriculturist Nobleto N. Sagun and Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero.
The beneficiaries for the water pumps are: Binongsay- Malin-awa Saving and Loan Cooperative in Malin-awa, Saranay FA in Balong, Gobgob Corn Growers Association in Gobgob, Mengawisan Nan Igorot Ed Calaligan FA in Masablang, and Makilo FA in Calaccad.
Ginnawat Organization from Dupag is the beneficiary of the Production Enhancement Program OPV Glutinous Corn Seed Assistance.
The roll-over strategy will be applied to twenty (20) bags of corn seeds by the corn cluster organization. According to this policy, the farmer-beneficiaries will be required to pay one-half (1/2) of the corn seed cost. The payment will be made from the proceeds of the corn produced and the funds raised will be distributed to the cluster’s future farmer-beneficiaries.
The twenty-four (24) Liters Fall Army Worm Control Insecticide has benefited six (6) farmers from Bulanao and seventeen (17) farmers from Masablang.
