TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Agbannawag National High School was hailed as the champion of the marching band competition held at Tabuk City National High School today, June 24 winning the PhP100,000 first prize cash and a trophy.
Saint Theresita’s School secured the first runner-up, receiving a PhP70,000 cash prize and a trophy. Cudal National High School won the second runner-up, receiving a PhP50,000 cash prize, while New Tanglag National High School placed third runner-up with a PhP30,000 cash prize.
Only four schools in the city participated in this year’s Matagoan Festival marching band competition.
Respected guests, including directors, professional choreographers, and producers, served as judges.
Mayor Darwin Estrañero has encouraged the participating schools to take the occasion not as a competition but as a moment to unite and enjoy the festivities.
Committee chairs Councilors Eduardo Sacayle and Abraham Licaycay awarded the certificates to the judges and the prizes to the winners of the competition. By Rod Asurin
