BAGUIO CITY – The local government decided to postpone the conduct of major crowd drawing events that are scheduled to be conducted in the city in the next three weeks.
Among the scheduled activities that will be indefinitely postponed include the grand opening parade of the 25th edition of the Panagbenga or the Baguio Flower Festival on Saturday, February 1, 2020; the International Jazz Festival; the pedestrianization of Session Road every Sunday and the upcoming Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) regional sports competition on February 16-21, 2020.
However, there is no definite decision yet on the conduct of the grand streetdancing parade and the grand float parade of the Panagbenga which are scheduled on February 29 and March 1, 2020 as the same will be awaiting whatever latest development s on the controversial Novel Corona virus outbreak.
On the upcoming conduct of the annual alumni homecoming of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) on February 14-16, 2020, the possible postponement of the same will be upon the decision of PMA authorities and the officials of the PMA alumni association.
Local officials announced that classes in the tertiary level which was earlier suspended will resume on February 1, 2020 following the postponement of the grand opening parade of the Panagbenga which was the reason for the suspension.
