Baguio City will host the RF Pilipinas Run this coming April 9, 2017 for its second leg this year after the national leg’s successful staging last week at CCP Complex in Pasay City.
The RF Pilipinas Run is known for renewed national commitment to advocate wellness as a lifestyle, and educational support for less privileged children and got further boosting from Department of Tourism (DOT) Asec. Ricky Alegre and the DOT’s sports tourism program.
The Baguio leg will have 16K, 10K, 5K distances. Runners from all walks of life will traverse a challenging winding, uphill-downhill climb from Burnham Park to Loakan Airport and back using the same route to the finish line.
“This fund raising event is patterened after the London Marathon. The large-scale fund-raising event will have Rizal National High School as its beneficiary and will coordinate and tie-up with the Barangay Government of Pacdal and Department of Education Division of Baguio City to run the event”, Philip Pacle, Renderfarm Sports’ race director said.
The starting gun at Lake Drive will be fired off at 5AM for the 16K and 10K runners. After 15 minutes, 5K runners will be deployed. All runners in the three categories will receive finisher’s medal. Cash Prizes and trophies awaits the top three male and female in the three categories.
Interested runners can register for the run at Toby’s, SM. The registration will officially close on April 7.
The Baguio leg is supported by Pocari Sweat as the official isotonic drink, and Rain-Soul, Eastern Communications, Pagcor, Pag Ibig, MacDonald, and Globe as major sponsors. RF Pilipinas Run is managed by Renderfarm Graphics with Jones PR as the co-organizer.
