BAGUIO CITY – Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) again stole the limelight in the recently concluded annual Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives’ Association (PHILRECA) General Membership Meeting when it garnered 27 out of the 66 corporate and individual awards amidst efforts to undermine its leadership by no less than the National Electrification Administration – Board of Administrators (NEA-BOA) and politically backed quarters.
BENECO was the only Electric Cooperative (EC) that was awarded the Ace of Tariff Award based on data from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) where such coveted and prestigious award is given to ECs for being committed in providing the cheapest electricity, on-grid, rate to its Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs). The award only proves BENECO’s ability to maintain the lowest rate charged to its consumers and negates misinformation being circulated by critics and those intending to takeover the same that it charges high power rates.
It was also conferred the Paramount Achievement Award which is given to ECs with exemplary performance in the pursuit of total rural electrification and sustainable countryside development aside from being given the Silver Stellar Award, based on PHILRECA survey, which is given to ECs that have attained 94-97 percent collection efficiency.
BENECO also received the Outstanding Performance Award, based on PHILRECA survey, where the same is given to on-grid ECs for attaining a single digit systems loss it its operations.
The Model Member EC Award based on PHILRECA data was given to BENECO where the same award is given to ECs for fulfilling all its financial obligations and for settling all payments for webinars, trainings, and other events and services of PHILRECA.
BENECO got the Prompt Payor Award based on PHILRECA data as of July 31, 2021 where the same is given to ECs for committing to timely and efficient settlement of its annual dues as a member EC of PHILRECA while the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) where BENECO belongs was a recipient of the Regional Prompt Payor Award based on the same data. The said award is given to regions whose members ECs have committed to timely and efficient settlement of its annual dues. Its determination to settle its financial obligations as a region has contributed to PHILRECA’s outstanding collection efficiency.
BENECO received the Strength in Numbers Award based on PHILRECA data where such award is given to ECs for encouraging and supporting its officers and employees to partake in trainings, webinars, trainings and other activities of PHILRECA.
Further, BENECO also got the Key Contributor Award based on PHILRECA data. Said award is given to an EC for committing itself to timely and efficient submission of reports, responses to surveys, and other compliance to PHILRECA.
Team Awesome Award was also given to BENECO where such award is given to an EC for extending its full support to the movement and for being the member-EC with the highest number of attendees during the celebration of the achievements of the rural electrification movement.
Lawyer Delmar O. Cariño, Department Manager of BENECO’s Institutional Services Department, received the Dedicated Partnership Award, for his continuous willingness to share their expertise and knowledge during trainings and webinars of PHILRECA.
BENECO received the State-Of-The-Art Workplace Award based on PHILRECA survey where the same is given to ECs for maintaining a model workplace conducive for the optimal performance of its staff and personnel as they attain the goals of the rural electrification movement.
Above and Beyond Award based on PHILRECA survey was given to BENECO for implementing the system of drive through payment of bills and for being an outstanding member EC of PHILRECA notwithstanding all difficulties confronting the rural electrification movement.
It received the EC Multimedia Award based on PHILRECA survey for its continued pursuit to extend its reach to its MCOs through creation of social media page aside from receiving the Digital Transformation Award for establishing a mobile application for EC services to MCOs.
BENECO got the Outstanding Radio Program Award based on PHILRECA survey where the award is in recognition to the efforts of the ECs to establish a radio program that exemplifies commitment to community service, genuine and accurate news and information.
The Extra Mile Award was bestowed to BENECO based on PHILRECA survey where the same is given to ECs implementing the Pantawid Liwanag Program 2.
BENECO obtained the Heart of the Community Award for its ability to sustain the implementation of the Pantawid Liwanag Program 3 of the PHILRECA.
It got the Bayanihan Award for rising above in the spirit of ‘Bayanihan’ through the conduct of community Pantry aside from receiving the Compassion in the Face of Adversity Award for BENECO’s taking cognizance of the plight of the MCOs and showing compassion through the implementation of the no disconnection policy while in the midst of a pandemic and crisis.
BENECO received the Champion of the One EC Network Foundation Award based on OECNF data for carrying out the vision-mission of the ONE EC Network Foundation, Inc. by providing basic social and economic services.
Moreover, BENECO was conferred the MCO Champion Award based on PHILRECA survey for having organized its MCOs in the barangay level and for empowering the MCOs to become advocates of the rural electrification movement.
Ace of Armor Award based on PHILRECA survey was given to BENECO for the embodiment of the advocacies, vision and mission of the rural electrification movement and exmplifyi9ng the unity and oneness of all electric cooperatives.
BENECO got the One EC Signage Award for exhibiting and showing its united front and affiliation with the NEA, ONE EC-MCO Movement, PHILRECA and One EC Network Foundation, Inc.; Leading EC in Health and Wellness Program Award for promoting and enhancing the health and wellness of each and every EC employee through the implementation of programs while in the midst of a pandemic and crisis and Iron Pillar Award for its active engagement and participation to the trainings, webinars and other activities of PHILRECA.
BENECO’s Vember Padaco was given the Legends of the Movement Award where the same is given to fallen warriors of light whose passion for service has continuously provided inspiration for PHILRECA and for the whole One-EC-MCO movement. By HENT
