The future took a brighter turn for 100 residents of Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte who received assistance on April 19, 2024 to further boost their incomes.
The offices of Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano visited Purok 7, Poblacion, Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte to provide the timely livelihood aid.
Cristelyn Yañez, the president of Presyo, Trabaho, Kita (PTK) women’s group Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI), elaborated on the significance of the assistance given in their community.
“Sina Senator Alan at Pia, nagbibigay po sila ng seed capital simula 2013 until now,” she said.
“Salamat po dahil na-upgrade po ang aming mga kitchen utensils. Malaking tulong po talaga itong PTK program sa amin,” she added.
Beneficiaries can further boost their incomes through entrepreneurial ventures as the aid provided focuses on rice retailing and karinderia livelihood projects.
The sibling senators partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under its Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) to provide sustainable livelihood programs in Kolambugan, Lanao Del Norte.
This endeavor was a resounding success thanks to the efforts of Vice Mayor Lorenzo Mañigos, Municipality of Kolambugan Councilor Djaam Macarambon, and PTK KALIPI President Cristelyn Yañez.
On the same day, the offices of the sibling senators also went to Poblacion, Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, to engage with the KALIPI women’s group in preparation for upcoming livelihood programs.
The activity, attended by 300 beneficiaries, was successfully carried out in collaboration with DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
TUPAD offers temporary employment to individuals affected by disasters or economic crises, providing crucial support that can aid in recovery and help them secure permanent employment.
The support and efforts of Vice Mayor Lorenzo Mañigos, Municipality of Kolambugan Councilor Djaam Macarambon, and PTK KALIPI President Cristelyn Yañez were instrumental in successfully executing these programs.
