TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Cordillera office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-CAR) commended the officials and employees of the DPWH–Lower Kalinga District Engineering Office (DPWH-LKDEO) for achieving a final rating of 100 percent outright compliance for road maintenance performance assessment and rating over the past three years.
The certificates of commendation were issued to the DPWH-LKDEO by DPWH-CAR regional director pursuant to the interim guidelines of Department Order No. 41, series of 2016.
The certificates of commendations for the DPWH-LKDEO’s compliance to the road maintenance assessment rating was issued in recognition of the agency’s sustained efforts to provide the travelling public with safe and well-maintained roads and bridges within its areas of jurisdiction.
Uyam attributed the performance of the agency on road maintenance to the overall efforts of the agency’s personnel who worked hard to ensure that all roads and bridges within its area of jurisdiction are well maintained pursuant to established guidelines.
She also claimed that such achievement was realized by the DPWH-LKDEO because of its harmonious working relationship with other concerned government agencies and local governments having jurisdiction over national roads and bridges that are being maintained by the agency’s personnel.
According to her, the DPWH-LKDEO will continue to exert extra effort to exceed its accomplishments for the previous years and to guarantee that the roads and bridges within its jurisdiction is safe for travelers, especially during the onset of the rainy season where their hands will be full because of erosions that impede the smooth flow of traffic along roads and bridges.
The DPWH-LKDEO has jurisdiction over national roads and bridges located in Tabuk city and the towns of Pinukpuk, Rizal and Tanudan.
The DPWH-LKDEO official also recognized the contribution of both the government and private sectors in the realization of such achievements, saying that a few individuals will not be able to accomplish such endeavor, and that they need all the support from all stakeholders to ensure roads and bridges within their jurisdiction is always be safe for travelers.
Uyam appealed to the people who may encountering delays in their travel to their destinations inside and outside the province to bear with such inconveniences, especially during the implementation of project along major roads and bridges, because such delays are temporary and that the improvement of roads and bridges through the projects will provide more convenient travel in the coming months.
She claimed that the DPWH-LKDEO, in partnership with concerned government agencies and local governments, is striving to ensure the timely completion of within its area of jurisdiction to lessen the inconveniences caused to the travelling public but there are some unavoidable circumstances and incidents that contribute in the delays in the implementation of projects that is why the understanding of the people is appreciated and valued.
