FLORA, Apayao – Farmers Associations (FAs) across various municipalities in Apayao welcomed a significant boost to their farming capabilities with the provision of 16 engine pump sets from the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera (DA-CAR).
The distribution ceremony took place at the Efren U. De San Gymnasium on April 24, 2024, simultaneous with the region-wide launching of the DA’s digitalized Intervention Monitoring Card (IMC).
A total of 14 farmer associations from different parts of Apayao were selected to benefit from these water pumps. The pumps are expected to play a critical role in ensuring timely irrigation for crops, enhancing agricultural productivity, and mitigating the impacts of El Niño in the province.
Apayao Lone District Representative Cong. Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang expressed her deepest gratitude to the Undersecretary for Rice Industry Management Engr. Christopher V. Morales for his support in providing these essential water pumps. She emphasized that this support would help farmers efficiently distribute irrigation resources and would contribute significantly to the province’s agricultural sector development.
