FLORA, Apayao – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) has recognized the municipal government as a Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) Passer for 2023, highlighting their exemplary financial management.
Officials from the DILG-CAR presented Flora Mayor Rodolfo B. Juan with the Mark of Recognition.
The GFH seal honors local government units (LGUs) that demonstrate outstanding financial management marked by accountability and transparency. These practices are vital for efficient governance and improved public services. The GFH is one of six crucial evaluations that LGUs must pass to qualify for the Seal of Good Local Governance.
Additionally, Flora received two more prestigious accolades.
This municipality was likewise awarded the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance for successfully passing the 2022 audit for child-friendly local governance. This seal is granted to cities and municipalities that effectively implement child-friendly programs and policies that promote children’s welfare, meeting all audit system requirements.
Furthermore, the Persons with Disability Affairs Office and the Persons with Disabilities Focal Person recognized Flora for achieving Ideal Functionality. This recognition was earned by attaining a total score of 96.50% in the 2023 functionality evaluation.
The ceremony was graced by DILG CAR Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose, Provincial Director Engr. Mayer Max G. Adong, and DILG Cluster Head Merina B. Cenu, along with other DILG Apayao employees.
These awards reflect Flora’s adherence to principles of financial transparency, disability inclusion, and the provision of social services and programs for the welfare of children and youth.
