TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Ezra Kiser Lagasi, a 19-year old nursing student from Saint Tonis College is this year’s Miss Tabuk.
Lagasi, who represented Barangay Lacnog during the pageant’s coronation night held June 22 at the People’s Gymnasium, attributes her victory on her childhood dream of someday wearing the elusive Miss Tabuk crown, and represent the city in national competitions.
As to her edge of bagging the title, Lagasi has this to say: “My confidence in every segment that we were doing throughout our pageant journey. I am just enjoying myself and being confident enough with it. I worked hard for this”.
Asked how she prepared for the pageant, Lagasi replied: “There’s a lot of preparation I’ve made, as well as the people behind me. We prepared for this. When it comes to my ‘pasarela’, I just watched some videos on TikTok for me to practice on my own, and I did it. As for my handlers, they were really a great help as well. They gave me a lot of advice when it comes to pageant, and they encouraged me and believed in me, that is why I was fully prepared”.
The beauty queen maintained her composure throughout the evening, especially in the question and answer segment of the pageant when she was asked how can the tagline ‘Win Tabuk’ be utilized in an information campaign to promote tourism and foster the city’s growth.
Without skipping a beat, she replied, “In this modernization that we have, that we live in digital life, and we know that Tabuk City really has advanced technology, and there are many developments in Tabuk City, and I believe that if we use our social media and whatever we post that is related to Tabuk City, we must put the tagline “Win Tabuk” because I believe that promoting our post when it comes to the eco-tourism here in Tabuk City, Tabuk City will really win, and I believe that Tabuk City is really the winner”.
Newly-crowned Lagasi also won the best in swimsuit, best in evening gown, Ms. Kyudi and Ms. Milestone special awards.
As this year’s Miss Tabuk, she brought home ₱50,000 given by the city government, and will be the official representative of Tabuk City in the 2025 Miss Kalinga pageant.
Fresh off her victory, Lagasi proved to herself that she was the best candidate, beating out 14 equally gorgeous and qualified competitors.
With her charm and eloquence, she got the nod of the judges namely Mai Fanglayan, Jahazel Ceballos, Janah Rhyl Lumidao, Ryan Cruz and Atty. Bryant Casiw.
