BAGUIO CITY – Coffee lovers looking for a cozy place to hold their regular breaks right at the heart of the city can now have one as Il Padrino Café and Ristorante opened its newest store along Session road.
The establishment, which is managed by a home-grown entrepreneur, is situated within the Porta Vaga mall and it is just beside the stairs going up to the Baguio Cathedral, one of the historic landmarks in the country’s Summer Capital.
Ervine J. Pangwi, Il Padrino Café and Ristorante president, said the establishment offers coffee from the produce of local coffee growers, vegetable from local vegetable farmers and other products produced in the different parts of the region that serve as ingredients for their regular pasta and pizza servings.
Pangwi, who traces his roots from Sagada, Mountain Province, had a difficult time locating for a store along Session road, thus, he is grateful to the Porta Vaga management for offering the space vacated by the Rural Bank of Baguio as its new store in the city.
Aside from patronizing the products of Cordillerans for the ingredients of our dishes, and the famous Arabica coffee beans for their coffee, he said the establishment also employs locals as workers helping generate additional jobs for qualified Cordillerans.
He admitted that the current space of Il Padrino Café and Ristorante is sufficient for a coffee shop enough to cater to the space requirements of coffee lovers but it is not enough for a regular food establishment serving sumptuous meals for their regular patrons.
Il Padrino Café and Ristorante is also located at the Mount Sinai, Commonwealth Avenue, East Fairview; Fairview Terraces-Ayala Malls; Robinsons Galleria; Robinsons Starmills; Sm City Clark; Sm Pampanga and Session road, Baguio City.
Considering that Arabica is the preferred coffee beans of coffee lovers because of its long-lasting aroma and caramelized taste, Pangwi said he plans to make use of the local coffee beans for the coffee that they will serve to their patrons round the clock.
He took the name of the establishment from the famous movie Il Parino that depicts the story of a mafia considering that he is an avid fan of the said movie.
