TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A team from the Provincial Local Government Unit conducted a thorough assessment on the functionality of Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRMC) of Brgy. Ipil as the official entry of the city government in this year’s search for Most Outstanding Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
As part of the National Disaster Resilience Month celebration, entries are assessed based on the structure and organization of BDRRMC; plans, policies and programs; accomplishments of BDRRMC; budget utilization; and leadership and innovation.
While Brgy. Ipil was chosen after being awarded the first placer of the Gangsa Award given in June 24, 2023 as one of the highlights of the annual Matagoan Festival, other entries representing the different municipalities in Kalinga were identified based on the assessment and evaluation of their Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC).
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) will announce the winner of this year’s Most Outstanding BDRRM during the Disaster Resilience Month culminating activity set on July 31, with cash incentives as rewards.
Lolita Camma from the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Shivvanny Aclam and Jelome Baswit of the PDRRM, SFO2 Clifford Labawig of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)- Kalinga, Erylle Patagan of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Kalinga, and Lilian Lagasi of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) led today’s assessment and validation.
